Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) Test 

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Test is a standardized examination conducted by US-based Educational Testing Services (ETS). This test is taken by individuals applying to the graduate program including law and business. This test score is accepted by thousands of Graduate schools around the world. Anybody can take the computer-delivered GRE General Test once every 21 days, up to five times within a year. GRE scores are valid for five years following the test-taking date. 

The GRE General Test fee varies according to country, in India it is US$205. The GRE subject test fee is US$205 worldwide. This can be paid through Credit/Debit Card (American Express, China UnionPay, Diners Club International, Discover, JCB®, MasterCard and Visa), PayPal, and E-Check Service. For the computer-delivered GRE General Test, the official scores will be available in the ETS Account and sent to the designated institutions approximately 10–15 days after the test date.

GRE General Test-

This test is not related to a specific field of study rather tests your verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills, which are required for today’s demanding graduate program including law and business around the Globe.

In most parts of the world where computer and internet connection is available, this test is taken throughout the year on a computer at Prometric test centers. In other parts where a computer is not available a Paper-based test is taken twice a year in November and February.

Format of Computer Delivered Test

Analytical Writing- Two separate writing tasks- One analyze an Issue Task and one Analyze an Argument Task- 30 Minutes each

Verbal Reasoning- Two sections- 30 Minutes each- 20 Questions per section

Quantitative Reasoning- Two sections- 35 Minutes each- 20 Questions per section

An unidentified unscored or an identified research section may be included and may appear in any order after the analytical writing section that does not count toward your score. 

The analytical writing section will always come first. The other four sections including Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and unidentified/unscored sections may appear in any order.

Format of Paper Delivered Test

GRE Subject Test

This subject test measures the capabilities of a specific subject of the undergraduate program.
