There is an option to get a huge amount of Ministry of Education (MOE) Tuition Grant which ranges from 5,000-40,000 Singaporean dollars/annum (approx) for international students depending on your program. If an international student can manage to avail of this grant he/she has to pay a subsidized tuition fee rate. This grant is open to a student who has not received any kind of scholarship. To qualify for this grant, an International student must need to sign of agreement called a Service Obligation (SO) with the Ministry of Education (MOE) to work for a Singapore-based company for three years after graduation. Study Options in Singapore for International Students
The most popular programs in Singapore for International students are Engineering, MBA, Applied and Pure Science, Hotel Management, Travel & Tourism, etc. The post-graduate program is simply referred to as “graduate study by coursework” or “graduate studies by research”. The degrees offered by the universities are MA, M.Sc., and LLM, etc. The duration of the master’s program is generally between one and two years. Part-time work is also allowed by the university under certain conditions.
Student Visa requirements for Singapore
After receiving the acceptance letter from the University, an International student should apply for a student visa or student’s Pass 30-60 days before the start of the program. He/she has to apply to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) through the Student’s Pass Online Application & Registration System (SOLAR). The visa processing fee is S$30. There is also an additional insurance fee.
